Sean David Cooper has appeared in series such as YOU, FBI: MOST WANTED, and POWER BOOK III: RAISING KANAN. Praised for his “rich,” “powerful, and “well-tempered” vocal production, he performed in the original cast of Baz Luhrmann’s Production of Puccini’s La Bohème on Broadway, Riverdance on Broadway, and Off-Broadway's The Perfect Crime.  Standout roles include Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd, Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, soloist in the world premiere of Christopher Dietz’s Only a Breath, and the roles in Mendelssohn's Elija and Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle.

Sean has performed with such companies as Seattle's 5th Avenue Theater, Pittsburgh CLO, Opera Carolina, Opera Memphis, Pittsburgh Opera, Toledo Opera, Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh, Opera Columbus, Opera North, Opera Theatre of Guam, Sacramento Choral Society, Tulsa Oratorio Chorus, and the symphony orchestras of Detroit, Pittsburgh, Memphis, Toledo, Lima, Warren, and Oakland.

Dr. Cooper attended Carnegie Mellon, Manhattan School of Music, and the University of Memphis. Winner of the National Opera Association’s Biennial Dissertation Competition, he has been published in The Opera Journal, has presented in national Conferences for the American Musicological Society, College Music Society, Mozart Society of America, and in the Toledo Opera Lecture Series. Recent stage directing projects include Don Giovanni at First Coast Opera and Susannah with Toledo Opera.
